Some things just can’t be recreated when it comes to Movie Theater vs. Home Theater.
Ah, the smell of shriveled up old hot dogs kept warm on a small Ferris wheel… the strong scent of movie-goers releasing vapors… the guy with a chronic bronchial issue coughing up a lung and blowing snot into a tissue… and the best part of it all? You get to pay dearly for this fizzy aromatic experience! What a bargain eh? Then again… maybe not so much.
If you calculate the actual cost of going to the movie theater, you’ll realize that it’s probably less expensive to build a home cinema. Just think about it for a minute… there’s an unlimited menu, bathroom breaks, no strange gases, you can wear pajamas, and the movie starts when you want it to. Furthermore, it’s never sold out, there aren’t any lines, you can sit where you want, and you don’t have to drive or park.
With such rapid advancements in technology, just about anyone can create a home theater that rivals the large cinemas. You can choose from flat screen TVs, Plasma TVs, LCD, LED, not to mention Bang & Olufsen’s BeoVision 4, which boasts an 85-inch Full HD 3D plasma screen. Unfortunately, very few of us can afford this luxury item at a price tag of $85k.
When it comes to home theater seating, you have a variety of fabrics and designs to choose from, including ones with built in speakers and cup holders. However, I must say that my favorites are the Monaco and the Copenhagen from The Christopher Vlaun Collection.
